Primitive Hunting

Primitive Hunters are drawn to the scenery and settings of Dream Mountain Ranch. Hunters dressed in period garb using handcrafted period weapons harken back to the days when people hunted as a way of survival. Everypart of the animal was used including hide, antlers, hooves, meat, organs and bones.

Here Primitive Hunter Tim Kubica uses a Hickory Self Bow with a 40 pound draw weight and a 26 inch draw to bring down a large bison with a single shot. Notice the arrow feathers contrasted against the bison hide. The arrow was fletched and hafted using deer sinew and wild turkey feathers. The point was a 18th century trade point with a cedar shaft.

Tim's Native American garb was also handcrafted using the same techniques used in the 1700s. Says Tim, "This was a life long desire of mine - the Buffalo, taken with Native American gear. I would recommend Dream Mountain Ranch to any hunter to fulfill their Dream in this esquisite scenery with exceptional service and hospitality."
