Note for our guests: Guests planning to visit the Joshimath area may kindly note that once the Badrinath temple closes on 16 November 2019, the town basically empties of all activities. The hotels and restaurants close down. Residents of the last village Mana also start migrating to their warmer winter village near Gopeshwar town. Within a week of the temple closure the district administration bars all casual visitors from going to Badrinath. The police set up a barrier mid-way between Joshimath and Badrinath at a small hamlet called Hanumanchatti. Visitors may only go up to that point. You are advised to plan your itinerary accordingly.
