Uttarakhand Govt Guidelines for Hotels & Tourists in a Covid-19 scenario

Uttarakhand State Government has issued guidelines on 7 June 2020 for the opening and operations of hotels and hospitality services during the Covid-19 epidemic. The main points of interest for the hotels sector and our potential guests are the following:

  • -Bookings from high-load Covid-19 areas will not be entertained
  • -Bookings from other areas outside the State of Uttarakhand will be for a minimum of 7 days
  • -Guests will not visit any public places, including places of tourist attraction during their stay at the hotel

So in effect tourists or visitors to Uttarakhand will be in a state of soft quarantine in hotels during their visit to this state.

The full text of the government guidelines can be downloaded HERE.

In view of the above guidelines, at Dream Mountain Resort we can understand that it is highly unlikely that any guest will book a room in Joshimath only to quarantine themselves for seven days in a hotel. Moreover, the guidelines are silent on whether tourists can visit public places after a period of seven days.

We have therefore closed all direct bookings through online travel agents like Make-My-Trip, GoIbibo etc to ensure that guests do not book by mistake and then have to go through the inconvenience of cancellation after realising the conditions involved.

Any guests still interested in visiting Joshimath under the above conditions are advised to contact us by email at dreammountain@yahoo.com or through Whatsapp at 8449063652 before booking at our website.

Alternatively you can also send us a message on Airbnb through this link http://www.airbnb.co.in/p/dream-mountain-joshimath
